Cruickshank Intellectual Property Attorneys, founded in 1928, approached us for an identity that would bring their 8 decades of experience into today’s marketplace. Our task was to rejuvenate the brand and help it become a truly differentiated provider of Intellectual Property Services in today’s marketplace.

It’s no secret that, traditionally, the image and profile of the patent attorney has been less than inspiring. Bulging filing cabinets and old-fashioned attorneys spring to mind...

A difficult challenge lay ahead! We needed to successfully create an identity that married the old with the new. How do you create a logo for a company that’s 80 years old?

A logo itself isn’t the only way to define a brand or company. Shapes, colour, images, typography, graphic devices all have a part to play. We used a combination of these elements to create an identity and visual language that speaks for Cruickshank. The result is a classical yet contemporary identity, refreshing use of colour for it’s industry, an established look across all communications, and a library of fresh friendly photography.
